Application Factory Service

The application factory is a tool that allows you to wrap a standard application with a web service so that it may be invoked from a workflow or a portal. If you have an application installed as a command-line tool which takes files as inputs and produces files as outputs you need only write a simple XML document that describes your application (where to find it, the description of the needed input and produced output files) and the factory will turn this into a web service capable of launching versions of your application.
