Component and Application Descriptions
XML documents are used to provide static and dynamic information about the
application and also static information about the component.The different
XML documents are
- The Component Static Information is an XML document that contains basic
type information about the component and all the details of its execution
environment for each host on which it has been deployed. This contains
necessary and sufficient information to launch the component it describes.
This information is provided by the component developer.
This information can be embedded in the Application Static Information
or can be obtained through a call to a simple directory service, called the
Component Browser. This is a repository of Component Static Information and
allows a user to browse components by type name or to search for components
by other attributes such as the port types they support.

- The Static Application Information is an XML document that describes the
list of components used in the computation, how they are to be connected
and the ports of the ensemble that are to be exported as application ports.
This information is provided by the application developer.

- The Dynamic Application Information is another XML document that
describes the bindings of component instances to specific hosts and other
initialization data. This information is provided by the end user.
